As a writer I have always been inclined to introduce people to my personality through writing. If you would ever happen to pass me on the street there are a few things you might notice about me. First of which is the direction of my head. I’m usually always looking straight forward sheepishly trying to avoid eye contact at all cost. Its not an attempt to visually write anyone off, but when I make eye contact with people its usually awkward and for unusual periods of time (unintentionally I might add). I guess I just took too many words to say I accidentally stare at people. I suppose this may be a good thing when it comes to face to face or intimate conversation because eye contact is a strength (or weakness) of mine.
By simply passing me on the street, you may not get to experience the full thrill of my personality. I’m quiet by nature, but when I become more comfortable with people I open up…let the sarcasm begin. I speak two languages: English (amateur – moderate), and Sarcasm (fluent – professional). So why do I tell you all of this. Well its only fair for you to know that when I passionately write about a subject matter, more than likely you may feel as though I am awkwardly staring you down or making some sarcastic humorous comment. In essence, this is what the letters from a cynic are all about; calling out, directing, or implying commentaries towards people who share the same faith as I do, or have an interest in debating my point of view with me. After all Paul’s letters to his churches weren’t always about seeing life through rose-colored glasses, and I have a theory (and only a small theory), that Paul himself had a sarcastic sense of humor as well.
I am completely open to dialogue about this blog. Anyone with similar views, different views, comments, questions, and accusations alike are more than welcome, and even encouraged to write. Feel free to contact me via this blog, and enjoy the “Letters from a Cynic”
Blessings,
Jeff
